I gave my second set of keys to the dealership...and there she was in the showroom. My NC, all preped up. I was shy to even take a last pic or even have a closer look. I ran. Got back to my new car and drove away. On my way home, I see an NC with winter tires on accelerating to get by me and I said myself, this could be me...but I traded my NC for an hybrid. This gave me a tear in my eye. I got home and first thing I did was to take a gas can, get 10$ of gas, put it in my NA and drive the shit out of it for the giggles with the top down. It was great. The car looks like shit, but the drive was amazing despite the clutch slipping. I even gave a Dodge Ram a good run for his money on a straight road and we waved each other at the end. I kinda turned the page on the NC now.

NC = 2006-2014 Mazda MX-5
NA = 1989-1997 Mazda Miata

Rotary already answered but it's like saying E30 > E36 > E46, etc.

My reaction was more like losing all emotions at first...but today, it was like that.

Thanks - my only Miata experience was testing a '96 model, wound up buying a '97 CRX Si. Not a bad choice - I think then then girlfriend vetoed the Miata. As I have said before in this space, shortly after I vetoed her.

I could live with that combo.

Even a Solara is better than a Civic hybrid.

I know W123, W124 (had one) and a few others. Must be that diluted German blood running through my veins.
